About the Band
BADGE is a professional four piece covers band based in Sheffield.
BADGE was originally formed by Nick Atkinson (guitar) and Kat Eaton (vocals) when they were 16. Their passion for music and determination has helped them to work continuously on developing both their own musicianship and the sound of the band.
Over the last five years Nick and Kat have benefited from playing with and having the support of some of the best musicians in the country, two of whom now form the rhythm section for Badge.
Jeremy Meek plays bass. Jeremy has toured with world-wide names, including artists such as Joan Armatrading, Chris Rea, Elkie Brooks, Leo Sayer as well as many others. He now plays as part of Paul Carrack’s band as well as playing with Badge.
John Watterson plays drums. John was classically trained and when he is not playing with Badge he plays percussion for the Grimethorpe Colliery Band as well as playing with orchestras all over the country and playing drums for some of the top jazz artists in the north of England.
Although Badge is primarily a four piece electric band, they can adapt to a number of different occasions due to a versatile repertoire and their understanding of different styles of music.
The band can perform as any of the following set ups:
- Full band electric
- Full band acoustic – Nick plays acoustic guitar and John plays congas
- Trio – bass, guitar and vocals
- Duo – acoustic guitar and vocals
So whatever the event, from a full blown party band to chilled out background music Badge can cater to your needs.
Badge own all thier own equipment including a high quality sound system and lighting. They are fully covered by Public Liability Insurance and have all the required P.A.T (Portable Appliance Test) certificates to the highest industry standard.
