As well as creating Badge Music Tuition Nick Atkinson and Kat Eaton are the founders of two Sheffield bands ‘Badge’ and ‘Feelix’.

Badge is a professional covers band playing weddings, parties and corporate functions all over the country. (www.badgemusic.co.uk/band)

Feelix is a band playing all original material and currently making a new album working with top producers at Steelworks Studios in Sheffield. (www.feelix.co.uk)

Having these two bands has enabled Nick and Kat to learn about all aspects of the music industry first hand as well as learning from academic qualifications, allowing a realistic view point on teaching methods and pupil needs.

Both Nick and Kat have GCSE’s, A levels and Honours degrees in subjects such as music, music technology and music and new media technology.

  • Our resident keyboard/piano/organ teacher is Joel White. Son of Sheffield blues legend Frank White and cousin of Richard Hawley, music certainly runs in the family! Joel has 23 years of experience in the music industry and has toured with artists such as Pulp, Finley Quay and Richard Hawley. Joel also has 15 years of experience of private tuition as well as teaching in Schools and Colleges all over Sheffield. Joel can teach all styles to all ages and all levels of ability.
  • Our resident drum/percusion teacher is John Watterson. John has been involved in the music industry from an early age. He studied in Sheffield and received lessons from some of the finest drummers and percussionists in Europe. As a player, John has toured the world with some of the top Jazz, Pop, and Blues artists in the country, as well as many of the finest Orchestras and Brass Bands in the country, playing all kinds of venues from the Royal Albert hall to the most intimate jazz clubs. John has over 13 years of teaching experience at the highest level. His ability to teach all styles to all ages and levels of ability means he is very much in demand as an teacher both privately and in Schools and Colleges throughout the North of England.
